A Mix of Everything

So you can’t see it well in the picture but the shirt I’m wearing has been with me for a long time. My mom bought it for me when we were in India (I was about 6). Years later while living in southern India (Auroville) I went on a field trip with my class, to an indigo dyeing factory. They said we could have anything dyed and frankly I was getting bored of the shirt just being white so I dyed it. If you don’t already know, indigo dye has the revolting smell. Because of this smell, I didn’t wear it for 2 years (yes no matter how many times I washed it, the smell did not go away!!). Finally I decided to wear it, but It was too small (and the dye faded…A LOT!!). I choose to do what my mom did with her identical t-shirt and I cut the sleeves and neck line. Now, I’m wearing it once again after 7 years.

Long-ass story for a single piece of clothing.
